Over the past 60 years since the founding of Xizang Autonomous Region, its civil aviation network has expanded significantly. The region now has 8 airports and 10 runways, with flight routes increasing to 193, connecting 81 cities. International (and regional) routes have expanded from 1 to 4. From Lhasa, passengers can reach any major city in China within one day, while international (and regional) flights provide direct access to Hong Kong (China), Kathmandu (Nepal), Pokhara (Nepal), and Singapore.
